From chemical reactions to crafting experiences – here’s how I found my passion for design

2016

Started living the IIT dream

After countless hours of hard work, I joined IIT Roorkee(this beautiful main building was the major reason for me to choose Roorkee XD) to pursue chemical engineering

2016-2017

Chemistry to Creativity: Found my spark

After a year in chemical engineering, I realized it wasn’t my calling. A senior introduced me to design, sparking my curiosity. Once I picked up Adobe Illustrator, I couldn’t stop exploring the endless creative possibilities.

2017-2018

Started designing for fun

Design became my creative escape in college. I spent countless nights crafting t-shirts, posters, and event graphics for our cultural fest. Working until 5 AM with coffee in hand, I discovered my love for the craft.

2018-2019

Curiosity turned into obsession

While others dove into coding, I stumbled upon UX design. Researching, reading books, and taking online courses opened my eyes to a whole new world of problem-solving through design. I was hooked!

2019

Joined a startup as a UX design intern

My internship at Avail Finance was a turning point. Conducting on-ground research taught me the value of empathy in design. This real-world experience showed me how impactful UX could be, solidifying my career choice.

2020-2022

Kicked Off My Career

Right after college, I joined Avail Finance as a full-time product designer, a few months after completing my internship i got a PPO there. At Avail, I worked on impactful projects that sharpened my skills and set the foundation for my design career.

Every project is unique! My approach adapts to the type of project, timelines, and constraints. That said, here’s the foundation I generally work from:

Explore & Strategize

Ask the right questions to dive deep into the context of the problem, uncover user and business needs, analyze the competition. The more I know, the better I design.

Ideate & Iterate

Generate ideas freely and experiment boldly. Explore all possibilities and identify the most promising solutions, present & align all stakeholders

Test & Launch

Test the product’s feasibility and gather user feedback.Always have a roll-out strategy defined to know if the solution is a success & what needs to be improved after launch

Measure & Re-iterate

Design is a continuous journey. Use metrics and data to assess performance, iterate, and improve. Great designs evolve with time
